Last autumn I took delivery of fifteen fruit trees. I planned to plant them in the chicken run to provide some shade for the hens, spring blossom for my bees and fruit for me.
The chicken run was somewhat delayed for various reasons and the trees were heeled in at the top of the garden. Winter came and went, spring arrived and the little trees burst into leaf and flower. Read more…
This week I’ve been experimenting with another garden crop. My crab apple tree has really established in the last few years, it’s an ‘Everest’ and has pinnacles of white blossom in spring followed by small, pink blushed yellow/orange fruit. Read more…
