Nature never ceases to amaze me.
I know I go on a bit about wildlife ad the natural balance, but this week I’ve been simply astounded by the number of ladybird larvae in my garden.
To be honest I haven’t seen them in the garden since I was a child, but my eco shed roof is literally crawling with them.
Many have now hunkered down for their transition into adults and are stuck around the shed roof and surrounding plants, it is totally fascinating.
They’ve been feeding on the aphids on the sedums and have cleaned it up completely. I knew the sedum roof would be good for wildlife but I didn’t really realise what a huge difference it would make.
It’s coming into flower now, just in time for my new bees and the resident bumblebees to benefit from the nectar.
Hope they like it.
