Jam Today, Jam Tomorrow

raspberryjamI’ve been banned from the kitchen today because I made so much mess yesterday making jam.
The good news is that we now have about 11lbs in total of blackberry, raspberry and gooseberry and elderflower jam in the cupboard and as I’m banned from the kitchen I can’t do any cooking.

And there isn’t any bad news really.
The bad news would’ve been when I couldn’t get into the kitchen to make the jam and all the fruit had gone to waste.

Anyway, it was worth it, I love bottling the fruits of summer to enjoy over the winter, and as the freezer is full already, it was the only way to deal with the sudden glut of fruit.
Managed to convert a recipe calling for elderflowers, by using some homemade elderflower cordial and I now have five fat jars of soft pink preserve that look and taste divine.
