Last winter my first and at that time, only beehive went into the winter with what I thought was barely enough food to last them to spring. I hadn’t harvested any honey, preferring to let them keep their precious food for their own needs, but I had had to resort to feeding them during a summer dearth so I knew that they did have some stores.
