I finally got to spend some time in the greenhouse at the weekend. The weather was milder on Saturday, the sun was out and the outdoor temperature was bearable. In the protected greenhouse environment it was almost warm and the perfect opportunity to do some tidying and cleaning up. Read more…

Every day I’ve been out in the cold thick snow, refreshing the bird food and water. The woodland drums have been drumming and news has obviously got out, as I seem to be feeding hundreds of birds at the moment. Read more…
Well that’s it now – we are snowed in. Again! But this time it looks pretty permanent and the chances of getting out to the shops are slim. Apart from a farm shop, our nearest shop is six miles away so that’s a 12-mile walk in thick snow and below freezing conditions. Read more…
