I don’t always get time to sow and grow and nurture everything that I would like to. I am often away at the critical times in the calendar and although I do like to push the boundaries a bit I had left it a bit late to sow some winter salads.
However help was at hand and a chance meeting with a colleague revealed a stash of young plants grown for a trial of a new compost called Carbon Gold Seed Compost.
I’ll be trying this out with some autumn sown broad beans, but by the look of the plug plants that arrived by post last week it looks pretty amazing.
They’ve all been planted out into my raised beds and also into planters in the greenhouse and are already well rooted and growing away nicely.
I’m looking forward to some tasty winter salads and a fabulous crop of chard, mustard, lettuce and spring greens when there’s not much else in the garden, but I am also fascinated to see how this compost performs. www.carbongold.com
